A balanced pH (around 5.5) supports the harmony of the skin’s microbiome and optimizes the action of keratolytic agents. The humectant duo – glycerin and betaine – retains water in the stratum corneum matrix: moisture stays, lipids remain intact. Calming elements, such as panthenol and allantoin, reduce redness after contact with water. Additionally, niacinamide contributes to this: it regulates sebum activity, strengthens the barrier, and optically reduces the appearance of pores. A low concentration of salicylic acid (BHA) helps to unclog pores from within: the lipophilic molecule dissolves oxidized sebum and stratum corneum plugs, making the skin appear smoother.
